The Straight Answer

Where Can I Ride It?

The question every buyer should ask first — so here it is, upfront. Texas makes this easy for e-bikes and scooters, and we will never sell you an off-road machine while pretending it's street legal.

E-Bikes: no license, no registration

ClassTypeAssist up toWhere
Class 1Pedal-assist only20 mphStreets, bike lanes & most trails
Class 2Throttle + pedal-assist20 mphStreets, bike lanes & most trails
Class 3Pedal-assist28 mphStreets & bike lanes · riders 15+

Texas requires no license, registration, or insurance for Class 1–3 e-bikes. No statewide helmet law either — we recommend one anyway, and we stock them.

E-Scooters

Street-legal on roads posted 35 mph or under, in bike lanes, and on sidewalks statewide. No license or registration.

E-Motos (Sur-Ron class)

Stock e-motos like the E Ride Pro and ETM line are off-road machines — private land, trails with permission, and OHV areas. They are not street legal in Texas out of the box, and anyone who tells you otherwise is selling you a ticket. Ask us about where locals actually ride.

This is a plain-English summary, not legal advice. Laws change and cities add their own rules — verify current requirements before you ride.
